  Siamo di fronte ad un album strepitoso, per quanto sono sicuro che i criticoni pseudointellettuali di turno non mancheranno di liquidarlo come futile lavoretto, e non c’è un episodio brutto nemmeno a pagarlo.

  Canzoni gustosamente pop, dal piglio facile, costruite con maestria e tecnica impeccabile, ti si appiccicano sopra e non si scollano per un po’.

  L’ennesima trasformazione d’un artista mai fermo, in continua evoluzione, che sà masticare la materia pop come pochi possono ultimamente permettersi.

  Di pochi altri si può riconoscere una personalità sonora e vocale come la sua e questo bel dischetto è qui per farci ascoltare undici canzoni di buona fattura che, saccheggiando le gloriose epoche dell’indie-pop, non si risparmiano dal regalarci momenti di ottimo disimpegno.

  L’enfant-prodige del pop norvegese torna con un disco fresco ed immediato, che emana classe, eleganza e ispirazione da ogni singola traccia.

  Prosegue brillantemente la sua strada un ottimo songwriter, che magari non regge al 100% il confronto con le sue sortite precedenti, ma che continua a spiccare per un qualcosa che, in tempi in cui le definizioni erano meno numerose e complicate, avremmo potuto sintetizzare in una sola parola: talento.

  Phantom Punch è la cavalcata più intensa e ben assortita di un personaggio che fa del pop la sua fede, per poi sposarla con rock e attitudine indie.

  Il lavoro svolto su questo disco è davvero encomiabile perchè nella sua complessità e meticolosità, all’ascolto arriva incredibilmente spensierato.

  “Phantom Punch”, il quarto lavoro del norvegese, vira verso ambienti decisamente più rock, abbandonando gli archi che tanto avevano fatto nei primi album.
